I like door dashing so much I do it for free

My son was hired part-time at a PF Chang's about a 20-minute drive away without traffic, probably right before the holidays. He was recently contacted by, I think, the regional manager or someone and they at least let him know that the company was going out of business. Now only that particular location and that particular location was takeout only! They asked him if he would stay the rest of his scheduled days for the week and then they offered him the same job at another location. But that location was about 45 minutes drive also without traffic so he declined. Unfortunately he was a making decent hourly wage, but driving that distance between the cost of the gas and the wear and tear on his older model vehicle, he declined.

They have a flawed tip model. Tips should always be given at the end of the job, not at the start. Also, tips are always extra. Never calculate your pay with tip included. If a job does not pay enough before a possible tip, then don't accept the job.

So according to your own words: "... they do this to make sure they get the order quickly and efficiently". Right so if customers have to LIE to you to get you to deliver their goods quickly and efficiently you should not be surprised when they tip bail. What is insane is the adversarial relationship these companies have put between the delivery drivers and the customers. The insane entrenched practice of having to pay someone a bribe on top of an already very high cost is not only considered justified but the receiver is labeled as morally lacking if he doesn't tip at least 50% of a standard mortgage payment. The solution is have the COMPANY who hires you PAY YOU per trip so you know what your getting and stop expecting others to bribe you to do your job in the first place. The end of this road is pretty simple to see - nobody is going to use the service because its been made artificially ridiculously expensive. GOOD. Let every damned restaurant close and all the lazy drivers go do honest work where they don't expect me and others to pay them protection so they don't take a dump in the grocery bag. When you guys start getting laid off and fired NOBODY is going to feel sorry for you.

It is probably just the route given on the offer was different than the best route calculated when they hit the directions button to start driving. Sometimes there are alternate routes with faster roads but longer distances and it sends that way in the navigation. You can usually zoom out the navigation map and look for other possible routes by looking for the grey lines. The best is to just already know the roads though, because it won’t give every option every time for alternate routes. The one that didn’t show the mileage could have been a connection issue in the middle of the offer being sent or just a random glitch.

Not a popular comment, but I guess this is a way customers can combat drivers just grabbing the highest tip instead of grabbing in order.

Whats good Pete.. always good to see you bro.. Here is my take.. You will not be deactivated!! Calling doordash is already your insurance to not being deactivated.. I have been doing this for a total of 8 years now.. There will be no deactivation for this.. Letting doordash know about this will automatically protect your account from AI deactivating you.. Remember, this an AI reviewing your accoungt.. not a real human being taking these complaints.. Once you reach out to doordash to a real human, you will not be deactivated.. Just that simple.. Explain your case and you will be fine.. I have done this plenty of times.. No big deal.. seriously!

It’s not dirty, it’s absolutely clean, if these apps are not able to pay the minimum decent wage boycotting and punishing us for not taking these garbage 2 dollar orders, we are gonna have to get by. Put yourself on my position, would you work for 5 dollars hourly?

Would not want to be a newcomer for a DoorDasher! I had to do a realignment of my regular dasher area,and am trying a different area just outside my normal area.

4:57 DD also gets a commission too, driven wild posted an article of a restaurant sueing Doordash for 15 thousand dollars and DD offered only half of the money back to them. Ive met some restaurants that I like to dine at said told they refused to use doordash because DD wants a commission on there food. Another article was posted too about restaurants pretty much are cannalbalizing themselves by leaning towards food delivery.

I had to get extra job when spark delivery slowed up now my city overpopulated with drivers

I took a order then I couldn't do the order it got canceled

I get orders that the store hasn't received yet..wait time is terrible.. so I unassign them depending on how busy the store.. from what you showed.your right they're trying to set some kind of control on the driver..if you know in the beginning everything.. you can make the decision.. like the guy said in the thread.. beginning of the end

Never picked up from a house seems sketchy

I fired DoorDash,I will not work with scums....

There are hourly drivers in the Leeds, Alabama zone who are gaming the system by sitting in the restaurant and then going and sitting in their cars for 5-10 minutes at a time. This way they are earning more an hour by extending the time on their deliveries. It infuriates me!

I work 7 days a week only because there’s not 7 or 8 days in a week. Yes to $2k!!

Some are getting deactivated due to prolonged wait times at restaurants. My theory is these are drivers that are actually multi apping and not marking their orders as picked up because they are picking up orders on other apps. Cherry pickers are getting dinged with the new tier program rolling out in different areas. DD wants those orders out and heavy cherry pickers have no place in DD platform going forward.

In my market base pay is according to mileage. I wouldn't turn my car on for 2.00 base pay going 12 miles 😂

What DoorDash needs is AI and drones to deliver people's food, as well as more drivers in every market.
